CS Education & Broadening Participation in Computing

Faculty in the CSE Department are engaged in research projects to help educate current and future generations of students on the breadth of opportunities available in computing. One aspect of this work involves programs designed to attract more students, particularly from underrepresented groups, into computing majors. Other faculty work on educational research aimed at discovering and improving the way Computer Science content is delivered in the classroom to enhance student learning. Faculty are also doing research on retention of majors including projects aimed at involving undergraduate students in research to encourage their curiosity in the field and prepare them for opportunities in graduate education.
