My research interests are in the area of artificial intelligence and include decision-theoretic planning using Markov decision processes, especially partially observable Markov decision processes, and heuristic search and its applications.  I received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an A.B. degree in Philosophy from Harvard University.
