Graduate student who receive a teaching or research assistanceship from the Department of Computer Science must, in addition to other course load requirements, enroll in enough CSE 8000 credits to bring their total to 12 credit hours. CSE 8000 is a variable credit hour course; student’s choose the appropriate value to bring them to 12 hours.
If a student is already taking CSE 8000 as part of their thesis or CSE 9000 for their dissertation, they should use those courses to bring their hours to 12 credits hours. Otherwise, students should use the CSE 8000 section for the Department Head to represent their TA work and use the CSE 8000 hours for their RA supervisor for RA work.
